Sick, everyone but ME

M household is sick which is going to put a huge damper in our Thanksgiving plans! BOO!!

Owen has influenza B and I'm sitting in the waiting room with Abbie cause I'm thinking she has it too.

For those of you that don't know Abbie's history, she just turned three and has already had to week long hospital stays due to being sick and having asthma.

As a momma, there is nothing worse than sick babies, my heart breaks for them.

And, on the way home I have to drive thru to get my husbands medicine. Urgh! I have to dope up on vitamin C!!!

Abbie at the doc refusing to take off her kitty cat hat! (No, it's not a cat, it's an owl) try telling her that!!

Owen on Sunday waiting to be seen!

Yes, I have to keep my sanity so I wrote everything in my notes! Please tell me that I'm not the only one

And my new rain boots!

It has been a long time coming....

Abbie is starting preschool. Say what?

Two....just two days a week, and I'm an emotional wreck.

She needs this, and I need this. But am I ready for this?

I think its harder knowing that I can't have any more children, I want to enjoy this time, every second with her.

I love watching her grow and learn new things, but honestly, I don't love her attitude. I try to discipline, but, for anyone that knows Abbie, knows that Abbie is her own person. I just keep reminding myself that one day I will be thankful that she is her own individual self. Until then, I will be sad that she is leaving me two days a week.

But I am so excited that I will have ALL DAY Thursdays to just me. And I can use that day to do whatever I want.

For those of you that don't know, I watch my friends little girl three days a week. She is precious and funny and developing her personality. I remember when my kids were her age. I like knowing that she doesn't have to take her child somewhere else and I literally live across the pasture from her. Its perfect for everyone.

Back to Abbie....she doesn't nap, never really has, this will be a wake up call for her and I am praying that the teachers can handle her attitude.

Catch up on Owen.

He had his school pictures coming up and I ordered the biggest package, along with the retouch and his name on the wallets. Why wouldn't I? Really, its his first year in school and we have to send his pictures to everyone to look at;)

He went to school that day, adorable! Even had daddy fix his hair, came home, looking cute still.

Got his pictures back this week and WHAT????? what happened to the adorable sweater from gymboree I bought that would bring out his eyes in his pictures??????

He took it off and wore just his white Hanes T-shirt!!! In his pictures!! I was laughing hysterically cause I just couldn't be mad, or could I? I mean the pictures were $50 and I'm sure the sweater wasn't very cheap. Good things he's cute!!

So I called my grandma and told her "grandma, I could just beat him, he is wearing a white tshirt".....Joking of course, I'm not going to beat my child ever, let alone for his pictures. Later we were leaving and he opened my car door and the conversation went like this...

"here momma"

"Thanks Owen, that was sweet of you, I like you opening my door"

"You're welcome, I want you to be happy"

"Owen, I am happy"

"I don't want you mad"

"I'm not, promise"

"Then why did you tell great grandma you were going to beat me?"

Now, I died laughing, poor boy, he was really listening to our conversation. I had to explain that it was a figure of speech that I loved him and would never hurt him.

I love the 5 year olds imagination.

He also got a good report at his first parent teacher conference. He is one of only two kids in his class that can recognize all his upper case and lower case letters. And the only kid she has ever had that can say his alphabet backwards.Which he radomly does. Smart cookie!! Takes after his mama ;))))

I have been sick the last couple of days, which makes me feel helpless when it comes to my kids. Daddy has been in control.

This was Abbie today after daddy let them play outside and the second day of a bon fire and s'mores. She was filthy and so tired!!

This was before he was left in control for the weekend, don't they look clean?

This is my blog and I need to explain how I feel.

I feel lost. As lost as lost can be.

I don't know if its since I had my hysterectomy, or that two months after that I had to have gallbladder surgery.

Or both, or both with one of my favorite uncle's being in the hospital, my sister going through some emotional stuff and I just wish I could be there for her.

Or even all that with the fact that Abbie doesn't listen no matter what I do, doesn't want to potty train, doesn't like dance, doesn't like anything. Am I just failing as a mom? (don't answer that, I know I'm not, but all good parents question it, RIGHT?)

My body and emotions have been through so much. I just feel LOST. Depressed maybe? Lonely? I know I'm not lonely, my husband is awesome and a huge rock for me these last couple of months.

But I have to be honest with myself.

I don't regret my hystrectomy, but I can't help but think that most of this is caused by it.

Has anyone else had these problems?

Lord help me!!

And just because.........

First day and ignorance!

Owen had his open house last night so that he could meet his teacher, look around the school and take in his school supplies. WHERE DID MY BABY GO??? I miss that innocent sweet baby that I could just rock and cuddle with.

Today was his first day of kindergarten. When we ate dinner tonight we asked him what was his favorite part of the day and he said....LUNCH!! Really??? Love him and his honesty.

His teacher seems super nice and he said that he likes her, hoping he will get out of his shyness this year and embrace all of these experiences.

But, on another note, let me vent! PARENTS!! URGH!!

We go to a small school and new this year is the pickup system. You used to be able to walk in the main door and the kids would walk through and you would just leave. Now, there is a line up inside that the parents use and there is a teacher at the door to the gym with a sign out sheet. If you pick up your child you have to wait for the teacher to call your childs name and then sign the sheet showing you were the one to pick them up. Time consuming, yes! But its the first year to do this, the first day and the safety of your children. I don't mind waiting an extra five minutes knowing that my son is not just released to walk freely and someone else grab him. Slim chance, but come on, it does happen.
SO, onto what really just pissed me off. You are the parent, the example. If you are standing there moaning and groaning and using choice words in the elementary school because of the inconveniece then maybe you shouldn't have had children!!!! It's a new policy, the teachers did not make the rule so don't take it out on them. Trust me, they work hard for their money and I'm sure if your child acts anything like you then it isn't an easy job. But my biggest point........if you don't respect the teachers, how do you ever expect your child to respect them?????

I will get off of my soap box now and let you enjoy my pictures!!

Yes, his shirt is long but he insisted on wearing it, pick our battles!!

Weekend Getaway

We had an awesome getaway this past weekend. My awesome little family headed to Branson for Silver Dollar City. We were joined by our good friends and their little boy, who happens to be a day apart in age from Abbie ;)
We started the drive Friday and stopped in Springfield to hit up Lambert's. I'm from Sikeston and have eaten at the original Lamberts almost a million times. But this was only my second time for the Ozark location.
We went to the cabin to unload and let the kids play at the play area, they had a blast and probably would have been happy with that, however, we like to out do ourselves as parents and had an awesome day in store for them on Saturday.
We woke up early and headed to Silver Dollar City!! We rode rides, ate everything in site, took a million Instagram pictures and enjoyed each others company. My kids are blessed! We are blessed!!
We are not onto a busy week, Owen has open house tomorrow, starts school on Thursday and I have to go register Abbie for dance which starts next week! Whew!! I'm wore out already :)

Bye bye until next time!
