O Christmas Tree....

Yes, I went Black Friday shopping this morning. I had a couple things on my list and I got them all. I love the rush of shopping when its such a free for all =) My awesome hubs did a great job getting me from place to place too. He was even sweet enough to run for a friend while she waited in line to check out. So proud of him for this morning!!

But anywho, we decided we wanted to start our own family traditions this year, the first being a real tree! I hate the thought of it, and I am terrified that it will catch on fire. I know, I know, as long as I water it we will be fine, but I am such a stressor of ALL things. We loaded up in the truck and went to a tree farm where you cut your own. This was my first experience of the sorts and I loved it. They took us on a hayride and gave us a saw. Owen loved thinking he was a huge help to pick it all out. The pictures don't do justice!!!

This year I was able to do somewhat of a theme. My husband is such a "traditional" junkie that he loves EVERY ornament, the huge 2 inch colored bulbs, generally, everything that I don't. I wanted a theme, a color scheme, and something different. We met in the middle!!! We have a real tree, clear lights, red / white/ green theme and a funky topper, PLUS we have all of our traditional ornaments on it. I am planning on adding more but I didn't realize how big this tree was, I mean, who would have thought it was bigger than it looked in a huge open field??!!

We had such a great day today. I am feeling it by waking up at 2:30 and I have a cold on top of it. I just took NyQuil and now I am hitting the hay =)

Good Night All!!!!

Black Friday Shopping!

I am so excited to get up at the butt crack of dawn to get some shopping done. I am headed to

And possibly here at 10 o'clock tonight =)

I love the excitement of going. I don't have much to go after or much left to get for Christmas at all, but....who can pass up a good bargain. Plus, I could always use "fillers" for the kids gifts and stockings!

I hope you all have had a great Thanksgiving. I sure did! Everybody is sleeping here at my house and I will be shortly.

We also went shopping for new furniture last week and the kids had a great time playing on this HUGE bean bag type of thangy!!

I will not blog tomorrow because I am so excited to spend it with my family pigging out on great food and prepping for all of the Black Friday sales that I will be hitting. This year my wonderful husband is going with me, I am thrilled. Even though he is going to be my driver so I don't waste time finding a parking spot when I could be finding bargains!!

I want to share with you guys what I am thankful for, aside of my family and friends.

  • My new slouchy grey boots, courtesy of my husband and Payless =)

  • My treadmill, the hubs and I have been literally kicking a$$ on this goal to lose weight!

  • My Kitchen Aid stand mixer, I have never used it as much as I have lately.

  • Church!!! My husband and I have been taking our family to church lately, I am really thankful for that =)

  • To be a stay at home mom, SAHM!!! I understand that my husband works double time, 6 days a week, late, early, and everything in between if needed for me to have this opportunity. I love having these special times with our kids, just them and me!!! I will always be grateful for my husband and his dedication to our family!!

  • Black Friday!!! I love sales!!! I am such a "bargain" shopper, I love to think that I found a great deal, I feel like that's my part of our relationship, since I don't contribute an income. Therefore, I love SALES!!!

But most importantly, I am thankful for my family and friends. My kids are truly my world. I couldn't imagine my life without either one of them in it, or my husband, he is my best friend, my rock, my support and my soul mate. As cheesy as that sounds!!! I love my life, with every up and down in it!!!

I hope all of you have a great Thanksgiving!!!!

Yummmm.....Sugar Cookies.....

Duke, Owen, and I decided it was time to try out the new Sugar Cookie mix we bought at Sam's this past weekend. It was delicious!!  Very simple too =)

I started on some decorating for Chirstmas. We can't do the tree yet, this year we are buying a real one and starting a family tradition of going and picking it out. Owen is going to LOVE it!!! But I did start my mantle, it needs a little more, and I love our new stockings!!

I hope everyone has a wonderful, family filled Thanksgiving, I know we will!!!

Happy 6 years.....

6 years ago I was on a plane to Las Vegas!!!

We had a whirlwind "courtship" and married quick. I am so thanful for that. I married the man of my dreams and the perfect father to my children. Our situation to getting married might not have been ideal. I was pregnant, we got married. It was pretty simple!

We have had our ups and downs in our relationship along this journey and I wouldn't choose to have them with anybody else. We lost our first child not even a month after we got married. Talk about trials!! I have the strongest husband that was there for me in ever sense of the word. I could never thank him enough.

Duke knows me more than anybody, I can honestly say that he is my best friend. I am proud of the man he has become. We have watched each other grow over these last couple of years. I pray that we will continue on this journey and show our kids the love we have for each other. I want to lead by example.

Both of our parents divorced early on. I can't remember my parents being together and Duke's memory of his parents is short lived. We both feel that now days its easy to get divorced, too easy. We don't want that to be us. (I do believe there are reasons for divorce and I respect that, it doesn't mean you gave up in some situations where you got divorced). I just hope that when things get tough we can continue to go to each other and God for guidance.

I will never forget that day, 6 years ago that I married my husband in the back seat of a rental car in "the little white chapel" drive thru ........yes, what a story to tell our kids, mommy and daddy married in a car in a drive thru wedding!!

I can't thank God enough for blessing me with such an awesome, generous, loving, supportive and genuine husband. I can only pray that he feels as blessed for having me in his life. Happy Anniversay!!!

Wednesday Ramblings.....

I have been super busy this week already. My kids are crazy these days. NON-STOP crazy!! I am loving every minute of it. Plus I am losing weight since I am chasing them so much =)

Speaking of weight loss, I have lost 15 lbs right now and I am super proud of myself. I have a goal of 15 more. If I can just keep up the hard work I will get there. Plus, the hubs is doing it too, it's nice to have the support!!

Abbie had a follow-up appointment this week for some "snotty" mess that's been going on. They finally put her on children's Zyrtec. So far, so good!

I ordered these personalized stockings from Pottery Barn tonight. They were running a good sale on them with free shipping and free personalization. LOVE THEM!! Go order them, I think the sale ends tonight or tomorrow.

Owen has said that he needs every toy on every commercial and that I don't need to buy him anything for Christmas this year because, in his words, "Santa is getting it ALL"..........oh, is he??

My big girl still isn't walking, she is 13 months and has NO, ZERO, ZIP, interest in it. She will walk around the coffee table, the couch and her toys. But, if you put her in the middle of the floor and try to let go over her she will just collapse. Any suggestions??
