Finally I am posting from our last weekend.....

This has been saved for about 5 days now, figured I should publish it =)

Our exciting Saturday night trip to Kansas City wasn't to exciting when we had to drive through a storm. Just right outside KC it was horrible, we saw lightning everywhere, wind, puring down rain and hail. I was terrified, I always get this gut wrenching pain in my stomach when I am in a situation with my kids that could harm them. I find myself thinking of the WORST thing that could happen. Its a horrible habit. (I even find myself worried that a bridge will colapse while I am on it. Crazy, I know!)

We arrived in KC, found our hotel and enjoyed relaxing. We drove around downtown, mapped our route to the Theater. Went back to the hotel and tucked in for the night. We woke up early, Abbie woke up at 5! FIVE!!! We got ready, ate breakfast and loaded up. We were on our way to see DORA!!! The show was cute. The kids enjoyed it. However, I will not plan to attend another show at naptime. WHAT was I thinking?? I also don't think they should have intermission when you are at a show full of kids ages 2-5!! But, for the most part, we all enjoyed it.

After the show we went to T-Rex Cafe at the Legends Shopping Center. Owen LOVED it. I have never seen that child so happy. We were sat next to 2 dinosaurs that moved and made noise. He jumped every time they moved. We spent more time in the gift shop area then we did actually eating our lunch. Worth every penny!!

I love making these memories for/with my kids!! I am blessed to have such a wonderful family, husband and children.

Tubes and Dr. Visits

Yesterday was a L.O.N.G. day to say the least. I woke up at 5:45 to get ready. Woke Owen up at 6:15 and got him dressed. He probably thought he had a crazy momma. I mean really, we normally sleep in. But not yesterday! Poor Abbie girl was finally getting tubes. FINALLY. We have dealt with over 10 ear infections (she isn't even 1 yet), 3 times we have had to do double rounds of meds, and twice we have had to get shots in her little thighs. Boo :( hate it for my little girl. We pulled out of the drive and 6:40, drove through McDonalds for breakfast. Took Owen to daycare and went to the hospital. We checked in and waited. We had been through this before with Owen so we knew what we were in for. We passed Abbie off to the anesthesiologist and nurse and we went to the waiting room. We were there about 10 minutes and told we could go back to the recovery room. She did awesome! Here is a picture of us waiting for us to be called back...

She and I came home and relaxed, it was perfect. She was snugly which I never get out of her, I was loving every minute. Owen had "competition" at karate to move up a belt. I had ironed his outfit and had it all ready. Duke walked in the door with Owen and I noticed he had a lot of red bumps. WHAT???? As I was taking his clothes off I noticed more and more. I called daycare, nobody else has had chicken pox. I went to the pharmacy looking for some cream or oatmeal bath stuff. I talked to the pharmacist and he said that chicken pox isn't common anymore and since I had a little one at home too I needed to have him checked to make sure thats what it is. Who was I to argue with the pharmacist, he obviously knows more than I do on that subject. So, I load Owen up to take him into urgent care. We waited for eternity about an hour. The dr comes in and informs me that he has had the vaccine, what?? I am such a good parent that I didn't realize that he even got this vaccine. Lovely!!! All in all it happens to be some kind of reaction to chigger bites. After all, why didn't I realize that he had been playing in the dirt/grass and riding his truck through all of the weeds "4-wheelin'". But seriously, my babies get sick or something isn't right, this momma worries. A little over protective, YES! But thats fine with me. I tried to keep Owen busy while we waiting, we took pics, enjoy!!

Relaxing Sunday!

Today was such a relaxing day. We woke up got dressed and went to town and ate at Perkins. It was delicious!! They have the best omelets. I had ham and cheese, can't go wrong with that one, YUM!!

Speaking of food, the hubs had some friends over today to watch football so I made some rotel, they made wings, and I made cheesy potatoes!! I love comfort food =) But the best of all was a snack I made for the hubs and I while we were watching Big Brother. This picture doesn't do any justice for how it tasted.

I had a good time today, Owen rode his jeep and played in the sandbox, Abbie hung out in the swing while I read a book, SUPER RELAXING!!!

Last weekend we went to some friends house that live out of town and I didn't get a chance to post any pics. I just love these two!! They have a little boy Colt who is actually one day younger than Abbie. The funny part is that our due dates were a day apart, her being due first. When I had my scheduled induction, she went into labor and ended up getting a c-section the next day. Crazy how it works. Anyway, I wanted to post some pictures from that weekend.

Owen generally goes to daycare on Monday's, however, this past Monday was a holiday so we switched for today. Today was also the day that the mini Bookmobile, JR, in our area was stopping by for the first time.
I had Owen up and ready early so I could make sure that he wasn't going to miss a thing. I think this is the neatest idea, they go once a month to daycares. It's a mini library for kids, they sing, do plays, read books and so much more. Parents can choose to set up their children with a library card too (which also works at the local library). Owen loves to read, and be up close and personal with all going on.

We did get Owen a card. I think its a great idea, it will teach him so much!! I didn't take any pictures but Mrs. Robin did. She said Owen did great and he found one dinosaur book and they made the comment that they would bring more next month =) My little man loves his dino's!!! I am so happy that he is so lucky to have these opportunities....
Owen is in the middle with the Mizzou, #24 jersey =)

Thursday randoms.....

This week is crazy off. Since Monday was a holiday everything else has been thrown off. All of my favorite tv shows have been off, thank God for DVR.

I, we, are HUGE Big Brother fans. Which brings me to my first point, I love Britany, I am so sad to see her evicted. I know, I know, this is the game......BLAH*BLAH*BLAH. You still can't help but to get involved when you watch it. Duke wants "Meow-Meow" (Enzo) to win. Between the last three I would like to see Lane win. But from the beginning I wanted it to be Ragan, he was just hilarious. Rachel, don't know where to begin with her, she was just as crazy as those red extensions. I am already getting fired up for the next season. We are such reality junkies. (totally loving the Real Housewives right now, the DC women crack me up)

Abbie has less than a month before she turns one!!! WHAT, as tears run down my face!!! I am so sad to see her growing up so fast. She is pulling up on stuff and walking along the couch now. She loves the dog food (dont worry, I don't let her eat that for snacks, sometimes I just forget to pick the bowl up before she gets to it, ha) I just love her so much. She crawls so fast now, when I tell her "no" she takes off even faster and most of the time she dies laughing when I catch her. She loves the toilet paper roll, I am constantly rolling it back up ALL of the time. Her hair is starting to really pick up and she is now into 12 month and some 18 month clothes. She also gets tubes this coming Tuesday. We are both ready!!!

Owen is doing good it karate. He hesitates when the first get there but after the first 5-10 minutes he is ready to participate. My husband and I both agreed that since we had to sign a contract for 6 months of it that he WILL like it, lol. Duke continues to take him every Tuesday and Thursday, its more about structure and discipline. Plus its good for him to start listening to other people and take directions from them as well. He is doing so good. We bought this new "writing skill" book for him to do his school work (his words). He sees older kids that he hangs out with go to school and he constantly asks if he can go. So we bought books for him to work with and he actually likes it. I am super proud of how smart he is. (yes, I am partial) We are having an issue with putting him to bed, he screams to lay in our bed. Has anybody else had issues with their child/children doing this. He has a nice, kid friendly room.

My awesome sister-in-law she reads my blog told me that the T-Rex cafe in Kansas City is actually in a mall called the Legends. I explain to my husband how nice this is going to be with Christmas around the corner. Needless to say, I am totally looking forward, especially since I have dropped a size by all of this great eating and walking I am doing. Plus, I looked up what stores are there!!! YEAH!!!

I go get a contact exam today, if all goes well, I will say BYEBYE to glasses and I couldn't be more happier. I went January 09 to get glasses, which I thought would only be for reading, etc. Or I otherwise would have got contacts then. She didn't tell me until the end when I was picking out and paying for my glasses that they were FULLTIME. My vision is horrible, and I was in denial that there were THAT bad. Again, I am ready to go and get contacts, wish me luck!!

I am loving all of my fall smells throughout my house!! Yummy!!

I am THRILLED not so much about opening night of NFL tonight. Thats ALL my hubs has talked about. I guess this means I will gain what weight I have lost back due to all of the snacking, dips, and bbq's that we will have. I also promised him that I would learn about football this year. Wish me luck!

Thursday Randoms.....

1. I am getting a new blog look, so excited! Ready for some darker fall colors!!

2. Abbie is going to be a

for halloween. ADORABLE

3. Owen is going to be a

which he picked out all by himself.

4. We purchased a chore chart for Owen today. I love Target, they knew just what I wanted/needed. We were looking for something basic, that had everyday chores on it. It's perfect for a 3 years old. It has bath, getting dressed, brush his teeth, make his bed, feed and water Cookie, and a couple others too. We have been giving Owen a dollar when we go to the store for a candy bar. Great bribery tool :) But, we explained to him each day he will get a quarter for his overall achievement and he has to put that quarter in his piggy bank. At the end of the week, if he earns his quarters daily, he will continue to get his dollar for the store. He is so excited, more about his quarters than his dollars. Progress is Progress!!!!

5. Abbie has 5 teeth now, 3 on the bottom and 2 on the top. Look close!!

6. I went to Bath and Body Works today for some "smell goods" for my house. I am in love with the new "creamy pumpkin" fall smell. Needless to say, I stocked up on wallflowers and hand soaps. Yum, I could just eat them!!!

Pretty sure I bought one of each of those.
