cleaningmakesmeill-itis

I copy and pasted this off of Rachels blog....LOVE IT!!! And oh, so true!!

So I have come to a realization this week that I think I need to address....for those who are concerned (DUKE WHEAT, I exchanged the hubbies names!), please read below:

The Lord did not give me great housekeeping genes, if anything, he skipped that all together when he was knitting me. I read blogs about yall being so organized "only one more load of laundry to fold" or "it is cleaning day and the whole house is spotless". My laundry is NEVER done, not even close! I never can make my house spotless. I used to think that I just did not have time, but I have recently realized that I just don't do it!! I am kidding myself that I am just too busy. I can make time for lunches, making bows with friends, and shopping all on top of my busy work load, but cleaning the house or laundry NEVER make the list. Now, if I am entertaining, I will clean this house and shove laundry in hidden places faster than you can imagine, but that is not the way to do it and that just causes so much more stress later...so I have had to come to the realization that I can't help it...I am just made this way and I my remedy is a housekeeper. If I have a headache, I take Aleve, if I am bad sick, I go to the Dr...when I have this disease I will now refer to as "cleaningmakesmeill-itis", we need to hire the best remedy possible, a housekeeper. Cleaningmakesmeill-itis is a common disease and I feel that so many women are fighting it and hurting themselves cleaning their homes. If only so many husbands would realize it and get their wives the help they need to hopefully put an end to this phenomenon, the world would be a much happier, fresh smelling, dust free, place. Just think of all the happier wives if their houses were cleaned...and we all know happier wives equal even happier husbands!! So will you join me in this revolution, stop the insanity, stop the constant mopping, dusting and vacuuming, join me in the fight against CLEANINGMAKESMEILL-ITIS!

Our next fights once this is conquered: EXCERSIZEISFORTHEBIRDS-emia, POTTYTRAININGSUCKS-enza, and BUDGET-POX.

DISCLAIMER: Yes, I know I sound like a spoiled brat and ungrateful for the house I have to clean, the mounds of clothes that need to be washed, and my legs, arms, etc. This is all in good fun, strategically written close to Mother's Day and for the sole purpose of my husband reading it and yall laughing. Please know that any mean comments will not be approved and I will hit reject as soon as I see them bc this is my blog and I said so!

Lake Fun

We had an absolute blast today. We took Owen and Abbie to Miner Mikes at the lake today. We have been before and when we were there we bought a season pass so we wanted to go and get some use out of it! I love that place, its so neat. It is an indoor play area for kids, with a huge maze, train, ferris wheel, bumper cars and ticket games. We had such a great time as a family. I love days like this when we can relax and just hang out with each other. I would like to make this a tradition that we do this on Sundays.

After Miner Mikes we went to the condo to swim. I love the indoor pool and its so quite there and relaxing! We bought Owen a new life jacket floaty thing so he could swim with us and we wouldn't have to hold him all of the time. We also bought Abbie a floating boat thing, which was the best decision ever! The one I bought was perfect. It had a spot for me to slide in to, so I was able to float around with her. Perfect for $10!! Owen loved the hot tub more than anything! The only reason he ever played in the pool was when he jumped in from the edge. It was so fun for him! He would go all of the way under, I hated it, he loved it!!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!!

Carnival and Petco!

We went to the local elementary school today on a whim to check out their carnival. I really wasn't planning on it and I wasn't dressed for it. Once I picked up the hubs from work to ride with us I realized that we were all wearing our Wheat's shirts!! How goofy did we look?? Embarassing!!! Owen looks so cute in his! I had went and got my spray tan this morning and I was in sweats and a tshirt but SO comfy. We saw all of the cars in the parking lot and thought we needed to go in and check it out! There were tons of little games that the older kids were running and Owen got some cute books and smaller toys!

It was so fun and he had a blast. They had a huge bounce house that you had to climb up to a wall to get to the top and slide down. Owen got to the top and was so scared to slide down, he sat there and cried and cried and CRIED!
My heart sank. All these other kids were going and he wasn't budging. We took Ashlyn with us and she went up 4 seperate times to try and get him down and it wasn't working. Poor thing! She sure tried!! So what did this momma do? I climbed up with all of the little kids and went in and got my baby! HA, I got all of the way up there and he looked at me with his arms out and said "momma, help"! Melted me!
We also went to Petco tonight to get a couple of things. My father in law has kept our dog Hank for a while because our house just isn't the biggest. It has been temporary until we find a bigger house that we love. (which we went and looked at one today)!! We have had Hank for 6 years and we bought him before we ever got married and he was 6 months old. So to say the least, we have missed him! The hubs really wanted to bring him home with us. I am not as for sure, so we brought him down for a night to try it out and see how it goes and if its comfortable. I have to admit, the nights the hubs works late and/or gets late service calls, it will be nice to have Hank here and just feel safer! But this IS a trail basis!! But here is Owen at Petco....

I am back!

We went out of town this week for an impromptu trip! We went to my hometown, Sikeston, to see my sister get baptised! I am so proud of this girl, she has turned her life around and I love her for that. She has had a rough life and been through a lot of stuff and I can simply say that I am loving the young woman that she is turning into. I was happy to see the family that came to church and sad that I missed the ones that weren't there. We took Abbie with us and she enjoyed all of the attention and was SO good! Such a happy little girl with her big blue eyes. I am so proud of my kids! Owen stayed with my cousin Jackie so that he could play. Plus, I know that he didn't have a nap and to pull him away from all of the kids and expect him to sit in church just wasn't going to happen. Not peacefully anyway!
Abbie had her 6 month check up on Friday and she weighs 16.2 lbs and was in the 50th percentile; her length was 25.75 also in the 50th percentile. She is just a petite little girl and I love it! She rolled over often before she got pneumonia and had to go into the hospital and now she doesn't have much of an interest in it. She has started sitting up on her own but topples over pretty quick. Her pediatrician is ok with it since she was in the hospital for 8 days they said that could play a part it in because she didn't get any "tummy time" then. But thats ok, she is a happy and healthy baby and I am THANKFUL for my little ones.

We pulled into town Saturday night and headed over to Deanna and Joe's house. Owen loves hanging out with their little girl Morgan (they are also expecting any day now a little boy). Sunday morning we woke up and headed to my dads. My dad and stepmom enjoy the kids so much! I really am thankful that my dad found a good woman. Connie is such a sweetie and loves her grandbabies!! My dad has had a tough couple of years, he battled prostate cancer and WON! All of his tests have came back positive! PRAISE GOD!! I am not ready to give him up just yet, we are finally getting close.
My dad and Abbie...

On another note......
Owen will be 3 this summer and I am so excited! We are having him a dinosaur themed birthday party, so any ideas would be great!!!

Yes, he decided he needed to pee right in my dads front yard...

My Man!

After reading Natalie's recent post about her man I thought I would go ahead and do the same. Figured you would want to know a little about my hubs and the father to my wonderful babies :)

First is how we met....
I had moved into an apartment with one of my girlfriends that I worked with at the time. The same day we moved in, so did our neighbors! Duke happened to be one of those neighbors, moving in with one of his good friends. I saw them carrying things in, but here was a girl helping him. I figured she was with him, later I found out that she was with his buddy and just helping them move. They would always have their apartment door open and all of their friends would be playing nintendo or watching football. It would always crack me up, I would think, "why in the world do they leave their door open, nobody else cares to see what they are doing"! Little did I realize that when they didn't have their door open I would wonder what they were up to! Ha, don't tell him that. We would say hello as we passed by, chatted a couple times, just became acquantences. One night he asked my friend and I if we wanted to go out. We said sure! I would have to say that he had me with his humor! If you have ever met my husband you will know that he is witty, smart, and hilarious!! Never serious (which sometimes could be a downfall). Anyway, that night started something. We started hanging out more, he would be there when I got off work and we would hang out. He slowly turned into my best friend at the time. We did everything together. Things were great with us. I loved it, I loved him! We were together a short period of time and I realized I was pregnant. I told him, we were both up in the air. Everything was going great between us! Now what!? We had to do what was right. He never proposed but we knew we were going to get married. Just didn't know when. Turns out, we told his dad about the pregnancy, he told us that if we wanted to get married he would fly us to Vegas and pay for us a whole trip there. AWESOME!! I was 7 months pregnant when we went. We were together not even a full year when we got married. That was almost 6 years ago. Met in January, married in November and had a son in December (we delivered a still born son at 33 weeks of pregnancy). Our marriage was tried then after a month. We were each others support during that time. We had a funeral for our son and continued to grow closer together. Everybody told us during that time that it would either make us or break us. We made a decision at that time that we would make it work. Thats what we have done!!

Who is your man? Dennis Wayne Wheat Jr....aka "DUKE"

How old is he? 31

How long have we been together? 6 years

What does he do for a living? Repairs appliances

Who is taller? we are the same height, which is why I rarely wear high heels

Who sings better? totally him!

Who pays the bills? He financially pays them but I write all of the checks!

Who pays when you go out? Normally me. I always tell him, "I will pay with your money"!

Whos temper is worse? Mine, he never gets mad!!

Who takes out the trash? I take it out of the can and put it by the back door so when he ocmes through the garage he takes it to the can

Who does the laundry? I do! He helps :)

Whose parents do you see the most? His dad

Who wears the pants in the family? Love what Natalie says.....he may be the head of the family but I am for sure the neck!!

Who proposed? There was never really a proposal.

Who is the first to admit when they are wrong? HA, we don't do that!!

Who drives when you are together? depends, me if he drove a lot that day.

Workout, Doctors Visit, and a little project!!

Hello All.....
What a whirlwind last couple of days!! Whew!! I am wore out. Yesterday started with taking my sweet little Abbie girl back to the doctor for a fever that wouldn't go away. Sunday I called my good friend who was also the day nurse in pediatrics when we were in the hospital. Luckily, she was able to calm me down when I totally got freaked out when Abbie had a fever and was just plain fussy, I could tell something just wasn't right!! I alternated tylenol and motrin Sunday and Sunday night. Monday morning I called the doc first thing. They wanted me to bring her in since we had been in the hospital with pneumonia the week before. Took her in and 4 hours later we find out she has some infection and we will know more on Wednesday. They did a chest Xray, bloodwork, a catheter to check her urine and a RSV swab!! Her white blood cell count came back high, so the doc wanted to give her a shot of an antibiodic to start getting rid of the infection and then to come back today and get another one. Poor Abbie girl! This last week has been crazy for her!! I feel that I have neglected Owen taking care of her so much. Today he went with us into the doctors office and I promised him that I would take him to get an ice cream if he would be good and hold my hand. He did AWESOME!! I waas so proud of him. While she was getting her shot he played a game on my iPhone. As soon as she started crying he told her to be quite that she wasn't supposed to scream in the doctors office! At least I know he listens to SOME of the stuff I tell him!! HA!!

The hubs and I have started the P90X. I say started, but technically we haven't started yet. We will be in about 20 minutes so wish us LOTS of luck. Especially me!!!

My father in law bought us this metal sign when he went to Vegas this last year and I have had it sitting in our bedroom not knowing really what to do with it and I didn't want to drill a hole through it and there wasn't anything to hang it by. I found an old picture frame that was gold and thought maybe I could paint it. Worst comes to worst I could trash it if it didn't come out the way I wanted. So here is the final project!!!
