Ok, we had a Christmas party on Saturday to go to. I had gotten a babysitter and this was really my first actually time to go out with friends since Abbie. I had too good of a time. I am actually mad at myself. What was I thinking? I have two kids and I felt like poop the next day. I feel like I shorted my kids mommy and me time. Needless to say, More recently I have stopped and looked at my life and how thankful and blessed I am for what I have. However, I have been thinking more and more about where my life is going and what I want out of it. I have really had things weighing heavy on my life, and I feel like its time to change some stuff. I will go into this on another day!
With Christmas approaching I am thinking about how awesome it is to have my little ones to enjoy this with. I let Owen open a present the other day and he looked up and said "awesome" momma. It was a $3 memory game. Thats how siked he was! The little things make him so happy and I want to get back to that place in my life.
I don't have much time right now but I felt like I needed to post something! I am trying to get into this "blogging" think, so become a follower! I promise I will get more interesting, ha!!

However, last night Duke and decided to go to the mall, he would watch Owen play while I took Abbbie and we did some shopping. Our mall does not have much, I think it is slowly closing all the stores :( Owen had a blast playing (as always). Abbie on the other hand, would NOT cooperate. Every time I would stop to look at something she would start screaming. I had to push her nonstop. Lets just say I enjoyed a good workout pushing our double stroller with her in it all around the mall! I did find Duke his Christmas present from Owen and Abbie at Hibbetts. Hope he enjoys it.
I tried to bribe Owen with a cookie to get his hair cut, he wouldn't have it. My friend usually cuts his hair, but with a two year old, you will take it when you can get it. And the first several times I asked him to do it, he said "ok momma". Needless to say, as soon as we got there and sat down he went nuts, wasn't going to do it by ANY means. And my husband has hair clippers at home, because he refuses to pay to get his hair cut, he believes in the $5 barbers that no longer exist. So when we got home, I talked Owen into sitting in the chair and letting me "trim" his hair, it worked for the most part. But it does look a lot better! But he plays with his hair at the back, right on top. He actually twist it so it constantly sticks up, no matter what the length is. So hopefully we will be able to nip that in the bud soon.
Maybe our next trip to the mall will be easier!

Ok, seriously, this weekend has been crazy. My husband and I tried to leave the kids with his dad for a couple hours to finish up our Christmas shopping. We weren't gone 2 hours and got a call that Abbie was extremely fussy and threw up (she does it about once or twice a week, dr says its ok). Anyway, we left the mall and ran to pick them up. Owen was sound asleep, for once! Normally, papa lets him stay up until he just crashes where he is! Abbie was still fussy, we went home and she was content. She likes being in her element with mommy and daddy! I think she is just so used to me all day everyday that she isn't comfortable if she doesn't at least hear my voice. CRAZY :)
On to today!!!! Owen, being onery, (spelling?) was trying to take Abbie's tights away from me, he yanked them hard and they flew off the hanger, needless to say, he went tumbling backwards, across the living room, and landed on Abbie!!! I was terrified, and already mad at myself for her laying on the floor and me not being right there next to her! What was I thinking? I know how quick stuff can happen. I was seriously frightened. She threw up within a minute of the accident and poor Owen, he didn't know what was going on! I called the doctors after hours number, and of course, they say to be sure and take her in. Better Safe then Sorry!! Thats my motto when it comes to my kids. Duke, on the other hand, he said she was fine. He doesn't stress about them like I do. And I just continued to beat myself up over it.
All is well now!!
Do any of you have any stories about your kids, and scares? Help me brace myself for the next episode.....
On another note............. Duke stepped on my Chi last week, so all this week I have had to wear my hair curly. He bought me a new pink one for Christmas but I really don't want to open it yet. Maybe I can hold out :)
I am ready for Christmas! I can't wait to see the look on Owens face when he sees all the goodies that Santa and mommy and daddy bought for him. We don't buy toys troughout the year, just practical stuff, like clothes, etc. So for Christmas and birthdays we go all out and I LOVE it! I am blessed to have my children.

Abbie Kate is 2 months today. CRAZY! I am loving every second of this chaotic, but blessed life that I am living!! My little ones are awesome. Abbie is learning to stay awake longer throughout the day, sleeping for as much as 6 hours at night, and making me smile all the time :) She is eating 4 ounces at a time, sometimes closer to bedtime she likes to take on a little extra. She is about to go to a size 2 diaper. She loves her big swing and the Christmas tree lights. I am learning so much about her on a daily basis. Her and Owen are so different in so many ways. But both so precious! I love spending time with her during the day.
Owen has been sick with an upper respiratory infection and "whooping cough", poor little guy has been so congested, his voice sounds horrible and he doesn't want me out of his sight. Thats when I know he is SICK! He has been such a good help with Abbie, he loves her so much. And he is starting to understand why we have a "big tree" in our living room, but not happy that he can't oopen any presents yet. But I can't wait til Christmas day and see the look on his face when he sees what santa has brought him.
here are some pics of Abbie, I don't have any of Owen since he has been sick.

We went to Sikeston this last weekend to visit family, spur of the moment trip! It was so nice, seeing the family, and this was the first time for most of them to see Abbie. My grandmas just fell in love and held her and rocked her, she is so spoiled!! Owen played with all his cousins. Thats my favorite thing about going there, I want my kids to growup knowing their cousins, like I did. Owen had a blast playing with my aunts 2 little girls. They are such girly girls and so attentive with Owen. And Abbie's middle name is Kate, and her oldest daughter is Kate, perfect fit!
I can't believe how much Abbie has grown, she will be 2 months on the 8th of this month, its amazing! She is smiling more, staying awake for longer periods of time, and she loves laying on the floor next to her brother. And he just talks to her and loves her, he read her a book last night, it was so sweet, how he tried to interpret the pictures.
Owen is still learning to potty train, his newest thing is taking his pullup off and putting a clean one on, then I have to find the dirty one :( I randomly walk in on him trying to put his pants back on and finding a diaper laying in the floor....so gross! Hopefully this stage will not last long!!
Here are some pics of the kids.....hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

OK, so, it has been forever since I have posted anything. I have read a lot of blogs but just haven't written anything. My life has been extremely busy with my 2 little ones. I love being a stay at home mom, but it is a job too. It is hectic, very! I had my C Section and my tubes tied 2 weeks ago, my body is still sore and I feel soooo worn out. I love my kids so much and EVERY second is worth it. But thats not to say that you don't get tired. Abbie is 2 weeks old now, she is starting to fill out, her face is looking rounder and her color is soooo good. Knock on wood, she sleeps awesome right now (compared to Owen who woke up every 2 hours on the dot and had colic). She is so precious to me (and her daddy). We are blessed to have our little family and I love knowing its complete :) Owen has been the best big brother, he helps so much (or really tries to). And we try to give him "his" time too, with just him and one of us. Daddy took him to the jump house the other day and he had a blast, it was just him and dad! They both enjoyed it! (I did too) Its easier to rest and take it easy with a baby that sleeps most of the time, rather then her and a 2 year old! We have been growing a lot as a family and I have been counting on Duke more as I get used to the routine of things now. And he has been great! I am so hormonal right now and he is still sticking around for it. HA!
Also, when we had Abbie my dad and stepmom came up for 4 days to help with Owen while we were in the hospital! Thanks! I didn't have to worry about Owen at all, I knew he was taken care of and that they kept him on our schedule and a somewhat nutritous diet (they are grandparents!). Plus they stayed at our house so Owen was able to sleep in his own bed and play with his own toys, it worked out so well. And when I got home from the hospital on Sunday I relaxed, then on Monday, my WONDERFUL aunt came to visit, I mean WONDERFUL because she did so much for us, not just me, but us! She let me relax and she made meal after meal for us, and homemade cookies, that were delicious. I am so thankful for everything she did. We have dinners stocked in our freezer, tonight is a meatloaf (which I am sure is great), that she made and froze for us. She also drove me to Abbie's first dr appt and carried her carseat! She was awesome! I guess I need to call my grandma and thank her for raising aunt sue to do so much for others. Aunt Sue, if you read this, THANKS!!!!
Here are a couple pics to catch you up on my kiddos! Enjoy.....

We were invited to Joe and Deannas house on Friday night for a BBQ, it was delicious. Owen had just gotten a pair of cowboy boots from my grandma and he did not want to take them off, so this was the scene in their front yard! He eventually got brave with the sprinkler and would stand right in front of it!
Then Sunday was my baby shower, it was so nice and I want to thank everyone for coming and those for planning it. I got such wonderful gifts, the cutest outfits, and my grandma gave Abbie her first little bible. It was so cute! Thanks Grandma! Again, I can't thank everyone enough for their generosity, we really appreciate it all :)

But, I am trying to find fun things that they can both enjoy. Not so easy between a 2 year old and a 5 year old. Luckily, when I was at a friends baby shower she told me about this place thats new in our town. I actually had rented Owens bounce house from there for his bday party, but I had it delivered so haven't actually been there. So today, we ventured our way there. It has bounce houses, a huge train table, big soft building blocks, a couple activity tables, inflatable slides and climb throughs! The best thing......its $2 for Owen, and $4 for Madeline. And its an all day pass, we left for lunch and Owens nap and now we are back. They even have wi-fi and juice boxes (a mothers dream). Then as I was talking to the lady she told me how they even have monthly passes for $15, seriously!! This is awesome :) So I snapped some pics of him playing and enjoying himself.
Tonight I am venturing out to Kohls for a little shopping, and leaving Duke to watch the little ones!
Uncle Duke has promised Madeline to go fishing and bowling before she has to go home. I hope she is having a good time!! I know Owen is enjoying this time she is here.
I ordered a new cell phone today, mine has just given up on me. Nobody can hear me when I talk, which is killing me, because I love to talk :)
Also, I am doing a coupe different things to Abbie's room. My aunt has made me some stuff and Duke has painted the floor lamp that I got at a garage sale, and I picked up some new lettering for her wall at Hobby Lobby......"one look at you and our hearts stood still"......PERFECT, cause I know thats how I will feel when I see her.
Well, we are about to leave this wonderful place, I have to go cook dinner for my hard working hubby!! (ham and beans....I know its hot out, but I crave it, with sweet cornbread)
So...tata for now!!

We are sitting at my father in laws house waiting on him to get in from his vacation. He hasn't seen Owen in a week, he has been busy in Las Vegas. HOW FUN :) It will be 5 years in November since we have been there, in a drive thru getting married.
On the Abbie front, she is doing great. Moving like crazy, sometimes it scares me because its so sudden. We went to the dr 2 wks ago for our ultrasound and she weighed in at 1 lb and 11 oz, starting next monday we will see Dr. Grant (my maternal fetal specialist) every week and my o.b. every two weeks. It is starting to get hectic, luckily they are all on Mondays and have scheduled them where we won't be there all day waiting in between visits. I truly love my doctors, they do such an amazing job. As you probably read from my previous post, we are expecting Abbie on Oct. 7, 2009! I am ready to see who she will look like and to hold her precious body.
My Aunt has made the cutest bulletin board for Abbies room, along with letters that spell her name. She is so talented!! I wish I was that creative. She also gave me some tips for the curtains, too. I am hoping to make it to hobby lobby this weekend to get the ribbon, wish me luck!!
My birthday is this month, the 31st! Duke took me to look at kitchen tables and he ended up buying me a new one for my birthday, I absolutely love it and I have been needing a new one very badly. This one seats 6 which is such a difference and it has a marble top ( wasn't sure about at first) but I love it and it blends in with my decor, plus it will be perfect for doing crafts for Owen, easy to clean and it has a "bigger, bulkier" feel, I will show pics soon.
Owen is such a busy bee, he is learning so much and he teaches me stuff everyday. He is going to day care on Mondays (I'll be at my dr appts.) But he loves this day care, and i do to. He has been there before visiting the kids. And I play Bunco with her and her daughter is one of my real good friends, so he is very familiar with her. it works perfectly. He is totally absorbed with trucks, tractors, and school busses. Totally a boy!! He loves bath time and "swimming". He loves his daddy so much, I love to see them together, they are so cute. Daddy is so rough with him, I am always getting on to him, I know he would never hurt him, he just wants to wrestle with him, and owen loves it, but I am a little overprotective of my baby :)
I hope everyone has a great weekend!

For those of you who don't know, Abbie Kate will be born October 7th. We have to be at the hospital at 6:00 in the morning, WHEW!!! (thats early)
We are so excited and we still have so much stuff to get, its overwhelming at times!!
Owen is getting so BIG, he is talking so much and learning to count, its so cute, he refuses to say 3, he just skips right over it. We are still learning to potty train, but he is doing awesome since is only 2.
Anyway, we went to the town firework festival, Owen rode pony's and watched the fireworks, ate popcorn and played on the baseball field with all the other kids!
Here are some pictures!!
