December already......

So, it has been forever since I have blogged, I guess I just don't have that much interesting stuff going on in my life :) Or just WAY to busy with a 2 yr old and a 2 month old!! We have been busy getting Christmas stuff ready and buying gifts for the little ones. I feel horrible because Owen has so much stuff but Abbie doesn't, but there isn't much to get her, she will only be 2 1/2 months old at Christmas. However, we did get her a Bumbo seat, a floor mat and some smaller handlheld toys. But Mr. Owen has a lot, or at least I think its a lot for a 2 yr old. But, hey, we love spoiling our little ones! Duke and I decided to do a small Christmas for each other, I bought him a blu ray dvd player, (which he already got, I can't keep secrets) and he is getting me a new blow dryer and a new CHI.

We went to Sikeston this last weekend to visit family, spur of the moment trip! It was so nice, seeing the family, and this was the first time for most of them to see Abbie. My grandmas just fell in love and held her and rocked her, she is so spoiled!! Owen played with all his cousins. Thats my favorite thing about going there, I want my kids to growup knowing their cousins, like I did. Owen had a blast playing with my aunts 2 little girls. They are such girly girls and so attentive with Owen. And Abbie's middle name is Kate, and her oldest daughter is Kate, perfect fit!

I can't believe how much Abbie has grown, she will be 2 months on the 8th of this month, its amazing! She is smiling more, staying awake for longer periods of time, and she loves laying on the floor next to her brother. And he just talks to her and loves her, he read her a book last night, it was so sweet, how he tried to interpret the pictures.

Owen is still learning to potty train, his newest thing is taking his pullup off and putting a clean one on, then I have to find the dirty one :( I randomly walk in on him trying to put his pants back on and finding a diaper laying in the floor....so gross! Hopefully this stage will not last long!!

Here are some pics of the kids.....hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

2 yrs and 2 weeks! WHOA!!!!

OK, so, it has been forever since I have posted anything. I have read a lot of blogs but just haven't written anything. My life has been extremely busy with my 2 little ones. I love being a stay at home mom, but it is a job too. It is hectic, very! I had my C Section and my tubes tied 2 weeks ago, my body is still sore and I feel soooo worn out. I love my kids so much and EVERY second is worth it. But thats not to say that you don't get tired. Abbie is 2 weeks old now, she is starting to fill out, her face is looking rounder and her color is soooo good. Knock on wood, she sleeps awesome right now (compared to Owen who woke up every 2 hours on the dot and had colic). She is so precious to me (and her daddy). We are blessed to have our little family and I love knowing its complete :) Owen has been the best big brother, he helps so much (or really tries to). And we try to give him "his" time too, with just him and one of us. Daddy took him to the jump house the other day and he had a blast, it was just him and dad! They both enjoyed it! (I did too) Its easier to rest and take it easy with a baby that sleeps most of the time, rather then her and a 2 year old! We have been growing a lot as a family and I have been counting on Duke more as I get used to the routine of things now. And he has been great! I am so hormonal right now and he is still sticking around for it. HA!
Also, when we had Abbie my dad and stepmom came up for 4 days to help with Owen while we were in the hospital! Thanks! I didn't have to worry about Owen at all, I knew he was taken care of and that they kept him on our schedule and a somewhat nutritous diet (they are grandparents!). Plus they stayed at our house so Owen was able to sleep in his own bed and play with his own toys, it worked out so well. And when I got home from the hospital on Sunday I relaxed, then on Monday, my WONDERFUL aunt came to visit, I mean WONDERFUL because she did so much for us, not just me, but us! She let me relax and she made meal after meal for us, and homemade cookies, that were delicious. I am so thankful for everything she did. We have dinners stocked in our freezer, tonight is a meatloaf (which I am sure is great), that she made and froze for us. She also drove me to Abbie's first dr appt and carried her carseat! She was awesome! I guess I need to call my grandma and thank her for raising aunt sue to do so much for others. Aunt Sue, if you read this, THANKS!!!!

Here are a couple pics to catch you up on my kiddos! Enjoy.....

Let me tell you about my little girl! She is awesome, gorgeous, soft and sweet :) I love her so much already, its crazy how that works.
I am having difficulty breastfeeding, so pray that God shows me which way to go. She has lost 1/2 lb (9oz) since yesterday and she wants to latch on every 45 minutes because she isn't getting enough colostrum. It is tiring me out, plus she just isn't getting enough and she has such hard time latching on. This is not as "easy" as I thought it would be. So we chatted with the pediatrician about supplementing with formula at night, we tried our first bottle this morning and she threw it up. So we tried again tonight, and she was great with it, and actulally went to sleep for longer than 30 minutes. So hopefully I will breastfeed all day everyday and then at night she can go for formula..... I hope this works!! I want it to where she will will get the nutrition from breastmilk, and also can be fed by someone else when needed, whether we have a dinner date or something comes up and we have to find a quick babysitter.
Anyway, I am so tired and want to get some rest. Wish me luck.
P.S. Look how well Owen is taking up with her! He is going to be such an awesome big brother.

Weekend in Sikeston!

We took Owen downtown on Saturday to this little festival thing, he loved it! He jumped in bounce houses and rode the ponies. It was nice to see people that I hadn't seen in years. I also found some cute head bands and bows for abbie :)

We were invited to Joe and Deannas house on Friday night for a BBQ, it was delicious. Owen had just gotten a pair of cowboy boots from my grandma and he did not want to take them off, so this was the scene in their front yard! He eventually got brave with the sprinkler and would stand right in front of it!

Then Sunday was my baby shower, it was so nice and I want to thank everyone for coming and those for planning it. I got such wonderful gifts, the cutest outfits, and my grandma gave Abbie her first little bible. It was so cute! Thanks Grandma! Again, I can't thank everyone enough for their generosity, we really appreciate it all :)
